Canon Rebel T7 (1500D) Review

Hey guys welcome back to t-bones tech in this video we are going to you’re viewing the brand new canon t7 the t7 cost five hundred and fifty dollars in replaces the older t6 the older t6 had canons 18 megapixel sensor that’s been around for about five years so the t6 was desperate for an upgrade and here it is the canon t7 this canon t7 has a 24 megapixel aps-c size sensor in this sensor is the exact same sensor found in the canon EDD the canon t7 i in the canon SL 2 now people who bought the canon a TD the t7 i or the SL 2 are gonna be relatively sad to find out that the t7 which only cost five hundred fifty dollars with the lens has the exact same sensor of all these cameras now there are definitely reasons to go and buy the canon a DD there’s reasons to buy the SL 2 all these cameras are better than the t7 but when strictly talking about sensor quality all these cameras are the exact same now before you guys go crazy i didn’t say that the t7 has these same image quality i said is the exact same sensor quality there is a difference but that being said in a controlled studio environment I can take the exact same quality pictures on the t7 as I can with the Canon a DD here’s an example of the Canon a D D and D Canon t7 now this next comparison I shot both these cameras out ISO 6400 ISO 6400 is the max native ISO that the t7 can shoot and as you can see both these pictures are very clean more expensive cameras would have advantages over the t7 is using those higher ISOs and that’s because they have more expensive and better image processors when shooting both these cameras are ISO 6400 or less there’s going to be almost no difference as far as image quality between these two cameras but more expensive cameras will give you the ability to shoot at higher ISOs other than sensor quality when it comes to everything else the t7 is the exact same camera as the canon t6 all the buttons and layouts are the exact same the auto focusing system is the exact same the placement of the SD card the battery the build quality and just everything this is basically a t6 with a brand new sensor but because the t7 does have brand-new 24 megapixel sensor it does take much better pictures than vt6 the t7 has a nine-point auto focusing systems which is pretty fast in accurate my biggest beef with the canon t7 is that it ships with the old 18 to 55 millimeter non STM lens the STM ones are so much better than the old non STM lens the old non STM ones make a lot of noise when focusing and they also do this really weird thing when zooming and that’s definitely weird but that’s just something that we’ve seen with this lens for the past 10 years the t7 can shoot 1080p video at 30 frames a second it can take very good high-quality video if you guys want to see a video test of this camera make sure to click the link in the description down below or you guys can check out my full video test of this camera the t7 is definitely capable of taking very high quality video but unfortunately it’s hard to take high quality video with this camera to get good shots you’re going to have to mostly manually focus and are also going to have to use manual mode and control all the settings yourself the t-7s max shutter speed is 1/4 thousandth of a second where higher end cameras like the Canon 80 can shoot 1/8 thousands of a second but 1/4 thousandth of a second is definitely going to get the job done it also has an ISO range of ISO 100 all the way to ISO 6400 of an expandable ISO to twelve thousand eight hundred and it can definitely take clean pictures at ISO 3200 and 6400 the t7 has canon stick for plus image processor that’s what’s going to allow you to get those better cleaner shots using higher ISOs the t7 has Wi-Fi and NFC and that’s really great because then you can use this camera to connect to your smartphone via canons camera connect app and then from the app you can control the shutter speed ISO and aperture and you can actually use your phone as a live screen of the camera so you can see what the camera is seeing and then you can easily just take a picture and then from there you can easily send it to your phone and share on social media if you’re wondering how to pair your t7 to your smart phone I’m going to leave a link in description down below to a tutorial that I made which easily shows you step-by-step how to do that this is a very light camera it’s not quite as late as the so2 it’s just a couple grams heavier but it’s definitely very lightweight and you could take pictures with this camera all day without any discomfort the grip also he’s a little bit bigger than the so2 which makes it fit in the hand just a little bit better for me overall the canon c7 is a great camera it costs five hundred and fifty dollars but we definitely expect those prices to drop fifty to a hundred dollars here in the next couple of months but for current pricing and availability I’m going to leave a link in the super down below which is going to take you to this camera on amazon amazon’s where I buy all my cameras from and they always have the best deals the t7 is a great camera for beginners doesn’t have all the pro features which we found on more expensive cameras but if you’re just getting into photography all those Pro features are just going to confuse you it’s good to start with a camera like the t7 to learn all the basics thank you guys so much for watching this video if you enjoyed it Stefan – make sure to give this video a big thumbs up down below and of course make sure that subscribe button and then
